UPSC’s Common Application Form takes a square photo between 20 and 200 KB and an unusual signature: you sign three times, one below the other, and upload all three as one image between 20 and 100 KB. Drop yours here to get files inside both limits.

Official sizes
From UPSC CAPF(AC) 2026 notice p.15; upsconline FAQ Q43–44. Pixel sizes are only listed where the notice sets one.
| Upload | Pixel size | File size |
|---|---|---|
| Photo | 350 × 350 to 1000 × 1000 px | 20–200 KB |
| Signature (3 times) | not set | 20–100 KB |
Rules from the notice
Besides the size, the notice asks for:
- JPG, 20–200 KB
- Square, 350–1000 px
- You also take a live photo in the form
- Sign three times, one below the other, on white paper in black ink
- Upload as one image, JPG 20–100 KB
The three-signature image
Sign three times on plain white paper in black ink, one signature below the other, and photograph or scan the whole block. Leave “Clean up the paper” on: the tool whitens the page and trims to your three signatures without cutting any off.
Why 200 KB and not 300 KB?
UPSC’s 2026 notices give 20–200 KB for the photo, while the older upsconline FAQ says 20–300 KB and 350–1000 px square. A square photo of 20–200 KB meets both.
Photo with a white background
This page crops the photo from the centre. For a face-centred crop and a white background, use the Passport Photo Maker and choose this exam in the list – it finds your face and gives the same size and file-size check.
Limitations
- Follows the notice named on this page; a newer notification can change the rules – check yours before applying.
- Checks size, file size and format, not whether the photo itself (expression, lighting, how recent) meets the rules.
Privacy
Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
Frequently asked questions
How do I upload the UPSC signature?
Sign three times, one below the other, on white paper in black ink, and upload it as a single image between 20 and 100 KB.
Do I need a live photo for UPSC?
Yes. Besides the uploaded photo, the application captures a live photo.
Will a wrong pixel size cancel my application?
The upsconline FAQ says UPSC will not cancel candidature over pixel size or ink colour – but follow the size limits so the upload is accepted.
Does 1 KB mean 1000 or 1024 bytes?
Forms differ, so the tool aims for a file that passes either way: under the maximum counted in 1000-byte KB and over the minimum counted in 1024-byte KB.
Are my photo and signature uploaded?
No. They are resized in your browser and never leave your device – important for ID documents.
Is it free?
Yes – free with no signup, no watermark and no limit.
