Resize your signature for RRB (30–49 KB)
FreeNo uploadNo signupWorks offline
Railway Recruitment Board applications need your signature as a JPG between 30 and 49 KB, at least 140 × 60 pixels. Small, clean signatures are often under 30 KB – this tool keeps the file inside the range, on white paper, and checks it against the notice.

Official sizes
From RRB CEN 09/2025 (updated 30 Jan 2026), para 16.5.1. Pixel sizes are only listed where the notice sets one.
| Upload | Pixel size | File size |
|---|---|---|
| Signature | at least 140 × 60 px | 30–49 KB |
Rules from the notice
Besides the size, the notice asks for:
- JPG, 30–49 KB, at least 140 × 60 px
- Black ink on white paper, running hand (no capitals)
- RRB takes your photo live – no photo upload
How to make a clean signature image
Sign in black ink on plain white paper, in good daylight, and photograph it from straight above so the page fills most of the picture. The tool turns the grey paper white, trims to the ink and centres it at the required size.
What about the RRB photo?
RRB takes a live photo with your webcam or phone camera instead of an upload. Wear dark (non-white) clothes for contrast, keep the camera at eye level, and do not wear a cap, mask or glasses. Bring a recent colour passport photo (no older than two months) to the exam and later stages.
Limitations
- Follows the notice named on this page; a newer notification can change the rules – check yours before applying.
- Checks size, file size and format, not whether the photo itself (expression, lighting, how recent) meets the rules.
- Checked against CEN 09/2025; NTPC and ALP notices were not checked separately.
Privacy
Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
Frequently asked questions
What is the RRB signature size?
A JPG/JPEG between 30 and 49 KB, at least 140 × 60 px, scanned at 100 DPI or more, signed in running handwriting (not capitals) in black ink on white paper and centred in a 35 × 20 mm box.
Why was my RRB signature rejected?
The notice lists a non-white background, ink that is not black, a thumb impression instead of a signature and capital letters as reasons for rejection.
My signature file is only 15 KB – how do I make it 30 KB?
This tool raises the quality first; if the file is still too small, it adds a hidden comment to reach 30 KB. The signature itself does not change.
Does 1 KB mean 1000 or 1024 bytes?
Forms differ, so the tool aims for a file that passes either way: under the maximum counted in 1000-byte KB and over the minimum counted in 1024-byte KB.
Are my photo and signature uploaded?
No. They are resized in your browser and never leave your device – important for ID documents.
Is it free?
Yes – free with no signup, no watermark and no limit.
