Turn MP4 videos into MP3 audio – for lectures, interviews, music videos or voice memos recorded on your phone. Drop several videos at once; the soundtrack is extracted and encoded on your device, so nothing is uploaded.
How to use MP4 to MP3

- Choose or drop your MP4 files.
- Pick the MP3 quality (192 kbps suits most uses).
- Click Convert to MP3.
- Play the result and download it.
Supported formats
- Input: MP4
- Output: MP3 (96–320 kbps)
How it works
Your browser reads the soundtrack out of the video and the LAME encoder – the reference MP3 encoder – turns it into an MP3, all on your device. The video itself is not changed or uploaded.

What people convert MP4 to MP3 for
The soundtrack is often all you need:
- Lectures and webinars – listen on the go, or send the audio to a transcription tool.
- Zoom, Teams and Meet recordings – keep the meeting audio at a fraction of the video’s size.
- Your own music, rehearsals and performances filmed on a phone.
- Interviews and vlogs – reuse the audio as a podcast episode (then try Enhance Audio to clean it up).
Which MP3 quality should I choose?
192 kbps sounds identical to the original for almost all listeners. Choose 320 kbps for music you want to archive, or 96–128 kbps for speech to keep files small.
| Quality | Size per minute | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 320 kbps | 2.4 MB | Music you want to keep at the highest quality |
| 256 kbps | 1.9 MB | Music, with a little space saved |
| 192 kbps | 1.4 MB | Everyday listening – the default |
| 128 kbps | 0.96 MB | Podcasts and casual music |
| 96 kbps | 0.72 MB | Speech: lectures, meetings, interviews |
Limitations
- Up to 60 minutes and 500 MB per file.
- Which input formats open depends on your browser: Chrome and Edge read the most formats.
Privacy
Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert MP4 to MP3 on my phone?
Yes. Open this page in your phone’s browser (Chrome on Android, Safari on iPhone), choose the video and download the MP3. Nothing is installed.
Can I convert several MP4 files at once?
Yes. Choose or drop as many videos as you like; each becomes its own MP3, and you can download them all as a ZIP.
Does converting reduce the audio quality?
The audio in an MP4 is already compressed (usually AAC), so it is encoded once more. At 192 kbps or higher the result sounds the same as the video for nearly everyone.
Can I convert a YouTube link?
No. This tool converts video files that are on your device; it does not download from websites. Only convert videos you have the right to use.
How do I keep only part of the audio?
Convert the video to MP3 first, then cut the part you want with the MP3 cutter.
Why is the MP3 silent or the video rejected?
The video may have no soundtrack, or use an audio format your browser cannot read. Try Chrome or Edge, which read the most formats.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The audio is decoded and processed in your browser, so recordings and videos never leave your device.
Is it free?
Yes – free with no signup, no watermark and no daily limit.
How long can a recording be?
Up to 60 minutes per file (and 500 MB). The whole recording is held in your device’s memory while it is processed, so very long files need a computer rather than an older phone.
