Rules from the notice

Besides the size, the notice asks for:

200 × 230 px, JPG 20–50 KB
Recent passport-style colour photo on a light, preferably white, background
Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face
No caps or dark glasses; religious headwear must not cover the face
140 × 60 px, JPG 10–20 KB
Black ink on white paper
Capital letters are not accepted
A signature that does not match the one signed at the exam means disqualification
240 × 240 px at 200 DPI (3 × 3 cm), JPG 20–50 KB
Left thumb in black or blue ink on white paper
The right thumb may be used if there is no left thumb
800 × 400 px at 200 DPI (10 × 5 cm), JPG 50–100 KB

The hand-written declaration text

The advertisement gives the wording: “I, ___ (Name of the candidate), Date of Birth ___, hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required. The signature, photograph and left thumb impression is of mine”. Write it in English, in black ink on white paper, and not in capital letters.

Your signature has to match later

SBI states plainly that if the signature on the attendance sheet or call letter at the exam does not match the one uploaded, the applicant is disqualified. Sign the way you normally sign, not a careful one-off version you will not reproduce under exam conditions.

Left thumb impression

Black or blue ink on white paper, 240 × 240 px at 200 DPI, which is 3 × 3 cm. If you do not have a left thumb, the advertisement allows the right thumb instead.

How to make a clean signature image

Sign in black ink on plain white paper, in good daylight, and photograph it from straight above so the page fills most of the picture. The tool turns the grey paper white, trims to the ink and centres it at the required size.

Photo with a white background

Frequently asked questions

What is the SBI photo size?

200 × 230 pixels, a recent passport-style colour photo on a light, preferably white, background, as a JPG between 20 and 50 KB.

What is the SBI signature size?

140 × 60 pixels, 10–20 KB, signed in black ink on white paper. Capital letters are not accepted.

Are the SBI and IBPS sizes the same?

For the photo, signature, thumb impression and declaration the figures are the same in both notices. Check your own advertisement anyway – they are set per recruitment, not once for the banking sector.

Does this work for SBI PO and SBI Clerk?

Yes. The sizes in this page come from the Junior Associates (Clerk) advertisement, and the PO advertisement states the same ones.

Does 1 KB mean 1000 or 1024 bytes?

Forms differ, so the tool aims for a file that passes either way: under the maximum counted in 1000-byte KB and over the minimum counted in 1024-byte KB.

Are my photo and signature uploaded?

No. They are resized in your browser and never leave your device – important for ID documents.
