Add a text watermark to a PDF

Mark documents as DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL or with a name. Place one large diagonal watermark per page or tile it across the page, and control the opacity so the content underneath stays readable.

How to use Add Watermark to PDF

  1. Select a PDF.
  2. Type the watermark text.
  3. Adjust size, colour, rotation, opacity and layout.
  4. Apply and download.

Supported formats

  • Input: PDF
  • Output: PDF

Layouts

Centre places a single mark in the middle of each page; Tiled repeats it in a staggered grid for stronger coverage.

Permanence

The watermark is drawn into the page content. It is not an easily removable layer, but it is also not a security feature.

Limitations

  • Text watermarks only (see Add Image for logos).
  • Text uses the built-in PDF fonts, which cover Latin (Western European) characters only.

Privacy

Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
