Add headers and footers to a PDF

Define up to six text slots – left, centre and right for both header and footer – and they are repeated on every page. Tokens fill in the page number, page count, today’s date and the file name automatically.

How to use Add Header and Footer to PDF

  1. Select a PDF.
  2. Fill in any header and footer slots.
  3. Use tokens such as {page} and {pages} where needed.
  4. Apply and download.

Supported formats

  • Input: PDF
  • Output: PDF

Available tokens

{page} current page, {pages} total pages, {date} today (YYYY-MM-DD), {filename} source file name.

Spacing

The margin sets the distance from the page edge. Increase it if text collides with existing page content.

Limitations

  • Text uses the built-in PDF fonts, which cover Latin (Western European) characters only.
  • One style for all slots.

Privacy

Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.

Frequently asked questions

Can I style each slot differently?

No – one font, size and colour is used for all slots.

Will it overlap my content?

Headers and footers are drawn on top; check the preview after download and adjust the margin.
