Repair a damaged PDF
When a PDF will not open because its cross-reference table or trailer is damaged, the tool attempts to read the objects it can find, then copies every recoverable page into a fresh, well-formed file. Success depends on how badly the file is damaged.
How to use Repair PDF
- Select the damaged PDF.
- Run the repair.
- Read the report: pages recovered and any skipped.
- Download and check the result.
Supported formats
- Input: PDF (damaged)
- Output: PDF
What it can fix
Broken or missing cross-reference tables, wrong object offsets and trailer problems when page objects are still intact.
What it cannot fix
Truncated downloads that lost page content, corrupted compressed streams and encrypted files. In those cases the tool says so rather than returning a misleading file.
Privacy
Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
Frequently asked questions
It says the file is too damaged – now what?
Try re-downloading the original, or desktop recovery tools. Some corruption destroys the data itself.
Does it recover form fields?
Only page content is rebuilt; interactive fields may be lost.
