Unlock a password-protected PDF
Enter the password you were given and the tool saves an unprotected copy. It does not recover forgotten passwords or bypass protection – a correct password is required.
How to use Unlock PDF
- Select the protected PDF.
- Enter its password and confirm you are authorized.
- Unlock.
- Download the unprotected copy.
Supported formats
- Input: PDF (encrypted)
- Output: PDF
Authorized use only
Only remove protection from documents you own or have permission to unlock. The tool requires you to confirm this and needs the correct password.
No cracking
There is no brute-force or bypass feature. A wrong password simply fails.
Limitations
- Requires the correct password.
- Document properties such as title and author may not be carried over to the unlocked copy.
- Bookmarks and form fields are not carried over (pages are rebuilt into a new file).
Privacy
Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
