FreeNo uploadNo signupWorks offline
Forms that cap uploads at 30 KB will reject anything larger, usually without saying why. Drop your photo or signature and get the best-looking version that fits - found on your device, with nothing uploaded.

- Keep the 30 KB target, or type a different limit.
- Click Compress.

- Output: JPG
What fits in 30 KB
A comfortable size for a signature, and workable for a small ID photo of roughly 200 x 230 px. A signature at 300 x 100 px will usually come out well under the limit, which leaves headroom if the form also sets a minimum. For a photo, grain starts to show once the background has any texture to it: a patterned wall or a curtain behind the subject costs a surprising share of the budget, because the encoder has to spend bytes describing detail nobody is going to look at.

Getting the best result at this size
Shoot or scan against a plain light wall. A flat background compresses to almost nothing and leaves the whole budget for the face. If you are stuck with a busy background, crop tighter rather than compressing harder - removing pixels costs you nothing visually, while a lower quality setting degrades the face too. For a scanned signature, check it is genuinely black on white and not dark grey on cream; raising the contrast before you compress often halves the file on its own.
How the target is reached
The image is saved as a JPG at the highest quality that still fits in 30 KB (counted as 30,000 bytes), found by trying successive quality levels. Only if quality alone cannot get there is the image scaled down, in steps, keeping its proportions. The exact final size and dimensions are shown when it finishes.
Limitations
- The result is a JPG, so transparent areas in a PNG become white.
- A heavily cropped or very detailed image may need to be scaled down to fit.
- The tool checks size, dimensions and format - not whether the photo itself meets a form’s rules on pose, lighting or how recent it is.
Privacy
Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
Frequently asked questions
Will the file be exactly 30 KB?
It will be at or just under 30 KB - the largest, best-quality file that fits.
Will the dimensions change?
Only if they have to. Most images reach the target on quality alone, and the result shows the final width and height so you can check against the form.
Which forms ask for 30 KB?
CTET September 2026 Information Bulletin, STEP 3; UPPSC OTR scanning guidelines (2022). Each figure here was read from that notice, and notices change - confirm against your own before submitting.
Does the form count 1 KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes?
Forms differ, and most do not say. The result is kept under the limit counted as 1000 bytes, so it also passes a form that counts 1024.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read into your browser and resized on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters when the file is an ID photo or a signed form.
Is it free?
Yes - free, with no signup, no watermark and no daily limit.
