Convert from PDFFully working
Convert PDF to a plain text file
Reads each page’s text layer, restores line order from the position of every word and writes a UTF-8 .txt file. Use it to feed documents into other tools, search them offline or archive their wording.
How to use PDF to Text
- Select your PDF.
- Choose whether to include page markers.
- Run the conversion.
- Download the .txt file.
Supported formats
- Input: PDF (with selectable text)
- Output: TXT
Reading order
Text is sorted top-to-bottom then left-to-right. Multi-column pages may interleave columns – for those, extract by page range or use the Extract Text viewer to copy specific sections.
Pages with no text
Image-only pages produce no text. The result reports which pages were empty so you know where OCR is needed.
Limitations
- No text is produced for scanned pages without OCR.
- Multi-column layouts may interleave.
Privacy
Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
Frequently asked questions
