Convert from PDFLimited
PDF to Excel converter for simple tables
The tool groups the PDF’s text into rows, then aligns cells into columns by their horizontal position and writes them to an Excel workbook. It works well for statements, price lists and reports whose columns line up, and poorly for merged cells or complex layouts.
How to use PDF to Excel
- Add your PDF.
- Choose one sheet per page or a single combined sheet.
- Run the conversion.
- Download the workbook and check the column alignment.
Supported formats
- Input: PDF (with selectable text)
- Output: XLSX
How columns are detected
Words separated by a gap wider than about 12 points start a new cell. Cells whose left edges are close together are placed in the same column. Numbers are written as numeric cells.
When it struggles
Multi-line cells, merged headers, rotated text and tables drawn as images will not convert cleanly. Review the sheet before relying on it.
Privacy
Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
Frequently asked questions
Does it read scanned tables?
Only after OCR. Use OCR PDF to add a text layer, then convert.
Why are some cells merged or shifted?
Column detection is heuristic. Rows with unusual spacing can land in a neighbouring column.
