What 300 × 300 pixels is for

A square portrait box. Square crops are unforgiving of photos taken in portrait orientation: fitting a tall photo into a square either crops the top of the head or leaves bars at the sides. Frame square at capture time if you can.

Forms that require exactly 300 × 300

These forms state 300 × 300 pixels in their own notice, linked below. Specs change with each cycle, so confirm against the notice for your year before you submit.

Exact size, or fit inside it

With "Keep aspect ratio" on, the image is fitted inside 300 × 300 without stretching, so one side may end up smaller than the target. Turn it off to get exactly 300 × 300, which stretches the picture if its shape does not match. For a form that rejects anything but the exact size, crop to the right shape first and then resize - that way nothing is distorted.

Limitations

  • Enlarging a small image to this size cannot add detail that was never captured.
  • The tool checks dimensions, file size and format - not whether the photo itself meets a form’s rules on pose, background or how recent it is.

Privacy

Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make an image exactly 300 × 300 pixels?

Drop it here and turn off "Keep aspect ratio" - the result is exactly 300 × 300. Leave it on and the image is fitted inside that box instead, keeping its shape.

Will it stretch my photo?

Only with "Keep aspect ratio" turned off and a source image of a different shape. Crop to the right proportions first if you want the exact size without distortion.

Which form needs 300 × 300 px?

Texas Board of Law Examiners FAQ. Each figure was read from that notice - confirm against your own before submitting.

Will resizing blur the image?

Making an image smaller uses Lanczos-3 resampling, which keeps edges crisp. Enlarging cannot invent detail that was never captured, so a large upscale will always look soft.

Is my image uploaded?

No. It is resized in your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters when the image is an ID photo or a signature.

Is it free?

Yes - free, no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many images you resize.
