Blur or pixelate parts of an image
FreeNo uploadNo signupWorks offline
Hide faces, licence plates, addresses or personal details before sharing a photo or screenshot. Draw boxes over what to hide and choose blur or pixelate – or blur the whole image. The original never leaves your device.
How to use Blur Image

- Choose an image.
- Drag boxes over the areas to hide (or choose “whole image”).
- Pick blur or pixelate and the strength.
- Download the result.
Supported formats
- Input: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC
- Output: JPG, PNG
Blur vs pixelate vs solid box
Strong blur and large pixelation make faces and text unreadable for people. For highly sensitive text such as passwords or account numbers, use the solid box option, which removes the information completely.
Limitations
- Areas are selected by hand (no automatic face detection).
Privacy
Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
Frequently asked questions
How do I blur the background of a photo?
Use Remove Background and choose the “Blurred original” background: the AI keeps the person or object sharp and blurs everything behind them.
Can blurred text be recovered?
Weak blur on large text can sometimes be partially reconstructed. Use a strong setting or the solid box for sensitive text.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser using WebAssembly versions of the same codecs desktop apps use. Your photos never leave your device.
Is it free?
Yes – free with no signup, no watermark and no daily limit. You can process many images at once.
