Make quiet recordings, songs or video soundtracks louder without clipping. Normalize to a standard loudness, or boost by a set number of decibels – a limiter keeps the peaks clean so it never distorts.
How to use Volume Booster

- Choose or drop your files.
- Choose “Normalize” (recommended) or “Boost by dB”.
- Click Increase volume.
- Play the result and download.
Supported formats
- Input: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, Opus, MP4, MOV, WebM
- Output: MP3, WAV
Normalize vs boost
Normalize measures how loud the audio sounds (in LUFS, the broadcast standard) and sets it to the target – −14 LUFS is the level Spotify normalizes music to, and similar to what YouTube uses. Boost simply adds the gain you choose. Both use a look-ahead limiter so the loudest peaks stay below −1 dB instead of clipping.
Several files at the same loudness
Normalizing a batch makes every file equally loud – useful for playlists, lessons or podcast episodes.
Limitations
- Up to 60 minutes and 500 MB per file.
- Which input formats open depends on your browser: Chrome and Edge read the most formats.
Privacy
Files you choose are read into your browser’s memory and processed on your device; they are not uploaded to a server. Temporary download links are released after use, and the offline cache never stores your documents. More about privacy and limits.
Frequently asked questions
Will boosting cause distortion?
No – the limiter catches the peaks. Very large boosts (over about +12 dB) can make the sound feel squashed, because the limiter has to work hard.
What is LUFS?
Loudness Units relative to Full Scale – a measure of how loud audio sounds to people, used by streaming services and broadcasters.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The audio is decoded and processed in your browser, so recordings and videos never leave your device.
Is it free?
Yes – free with no signup, no watermark and no daily limit.
